2015-2016 School year Kick off Sat Aug 29th 10-12 @Southridge Lakes community pool

There will be Pack swim party from 10-12 on Saturday, August 29th at the Southridge Lakes subdivision pool in Southlake.  Everyone is invited to attend (scouts, family, potential recruits, etc).  This event is where new and returning scouts will register for another year of Cub Scouting.  Registration cost will be $79.00 for the 2015-2016 school year.  You may also purchase additional Pack T-Shirts for your family at this event. The cost is $7 for youth sizes and $10 for adult.

As part of annual registration, an annual health form update is required!  BSA has a new health form again this year!   http://www.scouting.org/filestore/HealthSafety/pdf/680-001_AB.pdf.  You will need to turn in a completed health form to complete your scout's annual registration.  NOTE: fill in PARTS A and B only.  In addition, you will need to submit a copy of your current insurance card along with this medical form.

If you are bringing a new scout to the swim party to register, the BSA Youth Application must be completed and can be found here http://www.scouting.org/filestore/pdf/524-406A.pdf.

If you are updating your Scout's uniform for the upcoming year, please remember that the Pack Clothes Closet has some used items that can be purchased at half price.  The Clothes Closet will be available for browsing at the swim party.  Also, the closet is open for Donations!  Simply bring any unwanted / unneeded Cub Scout Uniform items to the swim party and place them in the clothes closet donation box.  These donations help support the Pack!

Finally, please note that the Pack will be having a Rain Gutter Regatta this year at our first pack meeting on September 15th.  It will be lots of fun for all ages.  New and returning scouts who turn in their membership fee and paperwork at the swim party will receive a Rain Gutter Regatta Boat for free!!

Bring your bicycle and helmet and join us for a Bicycle Rodeo Sept 2 @ 6:30 PM at Rockenbaugh Elementary.  You'll get to show off your skill on a road course as well as learn about bicycle safety and maintenance.  And just to sweeten things up, we'll have some some ice cream too!  Don't miss this fun event.

Join us Tuesday, September 17 from 6:30 til 7:30PM at Rockenbaugh Elementary.  Signup is open to boys entering the first through fifth grade. There will be fun activities for the boys and parents will get a preview of the activites for the year.

Pack Family Trip - USS Lexington! (1/26/13)

Dear Parent,
Starting at 3:00pm on Saturday, January 26 and ending at 9:00am on Sunday January 27, Pack 937 will be touring and staying over on the USS Lexington. The Lexington was commissioned in 1942 and saw extensive action in the Pacific theatre during World War II. This is a unique opportunity for Scouts and their parents to experience first-hand the workings of a modern aircraft carrier and to learn about its historic contribution to ending the war in the Pacific, amongst other assignments in the post-war era. We hope you can join us.
We need a headcount and payment for all parents and Scouts who will be attending the overnight camping trip aboard the USS Lexington no later than Sunday, November 25 . Cost is $49/person.

JOTA-Fun event at Scout Museum - 10/20 10am-5pm

2012 marks the 55th year for Jamboree-on-the-Air (JOTA) so come be a part of it all at the National Scouting Museum! JOTA is a World Scouting event that bridges Scouts all over the world via amateur radio. Numerous amateur radio stations will be set up throughout the Museum, allowing for both local and global communication by various modes. There will also be many other fun and educational activities; such as hidden transmitter hunts, electronic project assembly, solar telescopes, demonstrations of satellite communications, and much more throughout the day!

This isn't an official Pack event, however if you're looking for a fun activity on Saturday (10/20), this looks like a great one!

Scout Sleepover - Cowboys Stadium 10/5/12

Attached is a flyer describing an upcoming event that our Pack can participate in. On Friday, October 5, Cowboys Stadium is hosting a sleepover party for Scouts in the area. The festivities start at 5pm and include an opportunity to sleep on the field of the stadium, get a full tour, and watch a movie on the big screen! The cost is $55/person if we have 20 attendees from the Pack ($60/person otherwise).

The deadline to register is 9/28 and we'll have a sign-up sheet at next weeks Pack meeting (which is 9/17 at 6:30pm).

Longhorn Council Camporee Information

Every 4 years, the Longhorn Council holds a big camporee - and this is the year!

Attached is a flyer with information on the camporee - you'll want to put the dates on your calendar (11/9-11) and additional details will follow at upcoming Pack meetings.

This is a huge event - it's open to the whole family and it's a ton of fun!!

Fall Family Campout and Haunted Hayride

Our Pack is going to be camping the night of Saturday, October 27, 2012. Festivities start Saturday afternoon and go through Sunday morning.

More details will follow and a sign-up sheet for the Pack will be available at an upcoming Pack meeting. Bring the whole family - it's a lot of fun!!
